COVID-19 Health and Human Rights Monitor Launch
The UNC Health and Human Rights Working Group is pleased to invite you to the formal launch event for the UNC COVID-19 Health and Human Rights Monitor — a database created by an interdisciplinary group of students, faculty, and alumni from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. This exciting new tool offers an interactive and searchable website of 1000+ media reports discussing the human rights implications of national public health responses to the COVID-19 pandemic. Featuring presentations from project leadership, along with a keynote from Dr. Sharifah Sekalala, an Associate Professor in Global Health Law at the University of Warwick, the launch will address the ways this database provides a critical foundation for future research, advocacy, and the identification of best policy practices at the intersection of public health, human rights, and infectious disease response.
